I just purchased an 07 vlx and when i fueled it up for our maiden voyage tomorrow i noticed a strong smell of gas. It caught my attention while sitting at a stop light so it was very strong. I started poking around and found that it has a pretty substantial leak from the top of the tank. I noticed that fuel was leaking from the gasket and around the screws. Is this a common problem with these boats? i understand my boat is 10 years old but only has 127 hours. looking for some guidance. this is my first boat.

My 07 has never leaked like that. I would try tightening the screws a little first. Then if that didn't help new gasket/o-ring.
