Perfect Pass - Throttle Issues

Recommended Posts

cgsmakaveli

I have a 98 sportster and last season the dial inside the engine box that controls the tension for the throttle started randomly becoming unscrewed. Even if perfect pass was not engaged it would prevent the driver from throttling up to speed. There would be a deadzone on the throttle until almost fully hammered down and then the boat with respond. I have put duct tape on the dial but it will still come undone randomly.

Any recommendations?

When you key on, the stepper motor attached to that knob should try to take the slack out of the line three times in a couple seconds.

have you run the trouble shooting as specified in the manual?

if you have run the trouble shooting then a call to pp may be in order.  they are GREAT to work with.

i can share the manual if it will help.

@cgsmakaveli:  If the knob is simply coming loose, IIRC it is held on with an allen screw & may need a dab of Loctite.  It appears from your description that there is too much slack in the perfect pass to throttle connection.  As noted, check the various manuals on the Perfect Pass website, there are also some very good video's that will walk you through troubleshooting steps.
