Trailer question.

Recommended Posts

So I just purchased a 2005 malibu iride and I am looking for a trailer as the previous owner lived on a lake. I know trailers are pretty much custom made per boat but also know the iride is the same hull as '95 and up sunsetters so any trailer for those boats would work. I found a tandem axle trailer for a 2004 vlx but not sure if this would work for my boat. Does anyone have any input on this or know of any good places to look for used trailers besides the obvious craigslist and eBay?

Both hulls should be the same. The sv23 hull.

Thanks. Would the axle placement on a trailer for a vlx be in same place? Just curious if a tandem axle trailer for a vlx would tow OK and not put too much tongue weight on truck if I was to put my iride dd on it.

My trailer for my dd had the axles farther forward than my v-drive.  I think you might have some tongue weight issues.  I actually measured the  tongue weight on both.  The direct drive had a significantly larger tongue weight even though it was a smaller boat (21' vs 23') and the axles being farther forward.
