Testing the Waters

Recommended Posts

Well I hate to say it, but I think it is time for me to test the waters on selling my boat.  I recently went through a divorce and I got the boat.  However, I just don't use it much now, and it kind of reminds me of her since we bought it together and had lots of good times on it.  Its a great boat and has been my baby for the last 6 years, but it may be time for another toy that I get more use out of by myself.

Need some opinions on what I could expect to get for it.  I was thinking in the $28-30k range based on what I have seen on Craigslist in the area.

2003 23 XTI

~540 hours

excellent shape, except for a small section of the stitching pulling out on the rear bench seat.

335 monsoon

Custom Evolution cover

Perfect Pass

Teak Deck

Lots of extras (box anchor, shore spikes, ropes, bumpers, fat sacs etc)

2nd owner and has been garage stored since new.

Sorry to hear about the divorce.

Any pics of the interior?  I am by no means an expert on the pricing, but I am sure it will help the other Crew members make an educated guess.

I would think mid 20s. Not sure how much you want to deal with selling the extras separately, but would probably get more money that way unless you plan to use them to negotiate the boat price.

I know I live in a different region, but I recently saw a 2003 23xti with the hammerhead motor for $25k.

That boat would be 25-30k around these parts to begin the negotiating. Xti is going to work against you. Use the accessories as a bargaining chip or sell them to us! You will make FAR more than including them. I have a guy i used to work for in Denver that needs this boat and doesn't know it yet.

xti is one of those boats you need the right buyer for. There is an 04 locally that someone is actually trying to get 40k for. The other local one is an 03 for about 27k
