As for the question at hand, if Surf6 wants more room I would demo the VTX with my full crew.  If you have the money and feel more comfortable with the traditional bow, and allowing people in the bow to put their feet on the floor then go with the VTX.  If you want to save the money and like the play pen bow stick with the A20.  By the sound of it I doubt you are demanding the flattest ski wake or the world's deepest surf pocket.  I'm thinking both the A20 and the VTX will perform to your liking so far as wave and wake.

I don't really ski anymore.  Used to slalom a ton, but never behind a comp boat so I don't have enough background information to give you a great opinion.  But, I believe the A20 can make a small ski wake, but it is quite a bit more firm than a course-skier would prefer.

Exactly! But folks will be really stunned how good you can make the A20, 850 rears at 700+(Winter I'll extend my drain line and get 800+) fill, 950 front mushroom fill 800+, 800 stock plus wedge full fuel (conservatively 4200 lb equivalent ) driver, yeah it's goofy but my regular my wife can't film is great(2 150 straight line big bags coming for bow on regular side) it will be equal and both longer when my nose drops

When I get the 2419 acme (1235 now), I can add 7 more adults and make it sick

More than accurate on the ski wake as per my own pulls behind my A20

Get a used 20 VTX 2013 to 2015. Fantastic all around boat, will do slalom course--not super short line tho, wake board, surfs great. Very happy with ours. Love the boat--fits in the garage, couldn't be happier.

I can spot some hull differences between the A20 pickle fork and the VTX standard bow...
