Wedge on 2008 VLX with Maliview

Recommended Posts

My power wedge doesn't move at all. How do I troubleshoot it to determine what the problem is? I have heard there should be an inline fuse where might this be located?

In the power box under the helm I see a 30 amp fuse of some sort related to the wedge which is siliconed in and doesn't seem removable. When I put a voltmeter on the black and white wedge wires I get a little better than 12 volts. Does this indicate the fuse is ok?

I'm wondering if there is also an inline fuse and if so where it might be?

Also if I directly connect 12 volt power to the black and white wires coming off the actuators will they operate if they are ok?

If you are getting 12 volts on the terminals of the wedge output of the Medallion box then the fuse is fine. Seems like I remember reading other threads where some people located an inline fuse in the observers compartment but I'm not sure what year that was done.

If you connect 12 volt to the black and white wires the actuators should operate if they are ok. Just reverse the polarity to reverse the direction.

How do you operate the wedge on your boat? Is it with the MUX switches or the Maliview. Maybe the MUX module has gone bad or one of the buttons has quit working.
