Throttle Backs off during slight bouncing

Recommended Posts

I couldn't find this topic for my boat so maybe one of you could assist me.

I have a 2006 247 LSV and the throttle continues to back off on its own.  When I say it backs off, I could be on the slightest rippled water and it backs off little by little then all of a sudden it comes most of the way up.  Its been like this for years and I had the electronic throttle replaced a couple years ago, but it still does it.

When I am traveling long distance like we do at times. it's easier to set the Cruise and then just push the throttle all the way.  it seams to hold very good when all the way down.

Any ideas on how I can tighten this thing up?

Thank you in advance!

Here is a place to start.  There are no adjustments but there is a spring installed.  Links are provided in the following thread.

Assuming you have the Morse throttle... You can contact [email protected] and explain your problem. He sent me a new pair of springs to replace the single spring that currently in use. He may ask for the specific model number or a picture of the back of the throttle to make sure they send you the correct spring. I had the opposite problem with the boat accelerating after hitting a wake and this definitely fixed it.
