Wall mounted Ski/Board rack from Lowes

Recommended Posts

My afternoon project was to get rid of the clutter of toys in and around the boat. Went to Lowe's and got Closet Maid Brackets and Shelf supports in 16, 18, and 20 inch sizes. Easy install directly into wall studs with long wood screws. Not bad for an afternoon project. Cost around $80. P1000770.jpg

Good idea, but now go back and buy some 1/2 inch (or smaller) water pipe insulation to put on the top side of those shelf brackets so you don't scratch things up. Or maybe some of that sticky on one side flat padding that is used between a truck bed and a topper. Or maybe some rubber hose in a desireable color, slit it lenghwise to span across the top of each bracket.

Nice work. I need to do the same thing in my garage.

I had the same thoughts about using the water pipe insulation. Although the paint or powder coating on the top of the supports is very smooth and there are no sharp edges or rough spots. I also thought about some felt strips??

I just used those vinyl coated hooks. They make some that you can pick up at Home Depot for like $2 each that are shaped differently and perfect fit a ski.
