Actually, yes, waste of 300 bucks imo!! I've only been out one night, but the wedge seems to block all of the light. I did not try it with the wedge down, but will tomm night when we're out.

I wired it in with my swim lights so it would work with the dash switch for them. Perhaps, the white swim lights are much too bright and wash the blue out, I thought the blue would accentuate the swim lights, but no. Sitting at the dock, it appears all the blue light is "trapped" bt the wedge and the back of the boat.

Interesting. Damn Wedge. I took mine off because I don't use it much. Broke an arm on it one time and a pin to hold it up another time.
How did you tie it into the swim lights? Just splice it in or did you run wire all the way up to the switch?

If you have factory white underwater lights and you didn't remove those I wouldn't be surprised those are drowning the plug light out.

I bought the $60 typhon light in red of all colors, because it had to match my boat!, and it worked great down at Norris. We had probably 20ft back from the boat. I did have the wedge down but I also have a FAE that is definitely blocking it and I feel it was well worth the cost.  I've never had any underwater lights but was warned red was the worst, so I'm sure another color would have even better results.

My plan is to eventually change those to blue as well.

And yes, just spliced them into the swim light wires at the back.
