Wakeboard for little girls??

My little girl finally decided she needed to try something new. She rode her mom's HO Legend 136. Got up on the first try. Second pull she crossed the wake pulled out and did a surface 180 and back across the wake at warp speed. I think the 136 cm board might be too large for her and a 118 or 119 might be a better size. Looking for suggestions. I would like to find one under $200. She is nine and weighs 60 lbs.

That's fantastic!! At 9 she is either already to big for a 119 or will be before next season. IMHO go with a 124 and she will be good to go for the next couple of years or so.

I bought a Hydroslide 119 for short money (I think I paid $125-150) and it has been good for my son so far.

On the slide issue you need to make sure your daughter is using the edge of the board and not turning it and using the fin. When my son started trying to cross the wake he had that same problem. Once I explained weight on heels and on toes to turn the board he was crossing the wake like a champ.

Definitely a good idea to get a shorter board. 119-124 seems like a good range with the info you've provided.

We got my daughter a 119 (HL Motive) when we was ~10yrs old. She has used it for last 3-4 years (she's fairly petite) She may move to the 134 later this year.

She has small feet, and the only one using the small bindings. It has been nice not to have to swap bindings on a shared board.
