Fresh water Inlet Valve Location 2010 247 lsv?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Pretty new to the forum. Just wondering where the fresh water inlet valve is located? Bought a used lsv with only 23 hrs. Took it out yesterday and got few 100ft from the dock and noticed exhaust was smoking bad. Open up the back and, the rubbers sleeves attached to the end of the exhaust manifold where it goes underneath and under the platform, had blown holes in them from being so hot. The exhaust manifold was scorchingly hot, like no chance of even touching it hot. So pushed it back to the dock. Took the raw water impeller out some of the fins were bent over just a bit,but majority of them were all straight. Motor in it is the ls7 if that makes a difference. I should note the boat hadn't been used the year before at all so it's been two years since it's seen a lake. It was always stored in his shop, so I'm assuming he never winterized. Need serious help. Any would be appreciated.

Thanks.

raw water intake should be on starboard side of tranny.

Impeller sounds normal. Did you ever get the rpm's up above idle, might have been airlocked.

Replace the impeller. After repairing the exhaust tubes and ensuring the valve is open. take her to the lake, or use fake a lake, and do a test run, leave the moter access open as you need to get inthere as soon as you start the motor. Start the motor and put your hand on the raw water pump, it should be cool to the touch. If it is warm you are not pumping water, shut off motor. if it is cool head out and have a great day.
