  1. 1. What vehicle do you tow with?

    • Ford 150 (or plan to)
    • Another better choice

Anybody's wife drive an F150 on a regular basis?

^^ isn't that the dream.

Mine does. When I bought the Chevy SS last year I traded in her old Denali for it and gave her my '13 F150 Limited. It was a short term move; the intent was to wait a few months and trade the truck for another suv capable of towing and carrying all 6 of us and towing the LSV. But...

She loves driving something "badass" (her word) and different from the other moms in town. So...

That's why I'm asking questions about 6 passenger diesel rigs. She wants badass, I'll give her badass!!

My wife drives ours for her daily driver. I have a company car, and it makes no sense to have two other cars(one to drive and one to tow the boat). We had a Tahoe, but it didn't pull anything worth a crap. We didn't like any SUVs that had enough tow capacity so we ended up with a truck. Although she won't admit it, I think she loves it.

My wife drives our F-150 everyday. She's 5' 1". Coming from an Audi A3 it was a bit of an adjustment but we have the backup camera and she's fine driving it now.

I am in the same situation, but I don't think she is liking the idea of driving a truck.

My wife wasn't thrilled about it at first either. We have a Platinum, and it has more creature comforts than many luxury brands. The doctor my wife works for has a Mercedes, and he doesn't even have remote start. She starts it every day as he walks by to leave the office, just to irritate him.

Merc probably doesn't have ventilated seats either unless it's up there on the Merc totem pole. Totally gets my goat that a loaded Camry has more luxury features like that than the German luxury brands. As for the remote start, idling your car is illegal in most of Europe so they don't bother. :(

Why do you think she refuses to use it as a daily driver.

Height, she is 5'3 and has trouble getting our daughter in and out of her car seat. My truck is a little higher off the ground than a stock f150 though. she also prefers parking in the garage, truck won't fit. If it wasn't for kids in car seats I could probably talk her into it and save us a lot of money having 3 vehicles.

Your daughter is in the middle rear seat I suppose. Bottom line is we need a tow vehicle. The Tahoe's with the different tranny is hard to come by. The Suburban is too big, IMO. F150 or Tahoe ...is where I'm at right now.

Out of curiosity - if you would consider a Tahoe then why not the Silverado crew?

Funny thread!

Towing with a '14 Tundra Crewmax Limited. I have driven it all over on lake trips and hunting trips and I love this truck. It has been awesome, tows really well and has done much better in the mud and snow than I would have expected with the stock tires and suspension. It's great for long road trips since its smooth and comfortable with tons of space. I can put the drivers seat all the way back so that I fit and still have plenty of rear seat leg room.

Those have grown on me a lot after the facelift, but like the Titan, they don't come close to the fuel economy of the domestics. That's the biggest thing Nissan and Toyota need to work on moving forward IMO.

I love toyota! I just think the Tundra lacks a bit of styling and the interior is a bit dated. I'm sure its a great truck. I guess its just a matter of preference. I'm having a hard time getting rid of my FJ
