For three years during college I drove a Black 1966 Cadillac Fleetwood 76, that I bought for $1600. My brother had a 68 Lincoln Mark III that cost about the same. With the money the Ram is going to cost someone you could really have so much more fun. But to keep with your OP, yes the Ram would be a good move if you don't want to be more creative.

I would love to take my current car up there. I paid for it and it is not costing me any money, and depreciation is almost nonexistent. However, I would like something reliable and 4 wheel drive going up there. After all, it is a 2500 mile trip. If I went to school in california or somewhere warm, I would keep my car.

avg annual snow 11 inches. I think you'll be fine driving anything. My kid managed with a spectra 5 in Bozeman, and it actually snows there.

Other reason for me getting 4x4 is resale, and the fact that we go mudding. Lol.

Eastside WA will get snow. I went to school in Klamath falls and didn't see bare pavement from Thanksgiving until spring break one year. I was driving a '67 mustang and it SUCKED.

Your doing the right thing as hard as it might be to sell that beautiful stang.

Any who doesn't know what a stang is?

as long as you want it that is all that matters. The resale argument is silly though. 4wd isn't free and I've never had issues with getting my money back out of my 2wds.

Hey I had one of those when I was 16!

Me too! Haha. I bought an 03 GT when I first turned 16. It was cheap cause it needed some work. I fixed and resold it a couple months later, making a little bit. Then bought a bmw 330ci that I kept for 6 months and sold it at quite a profit. The guy I got it from couldn't figure out why it leaked oil, but it just needed a valve cover gasket. After the bmw I was happy to be back in a stang. Bought the 08 a couple months before my 17th birthday.

Eh. Sort of. I don't remember planning to go to this college that early on but my memory sucks for things like this. All I am required to memorize are physics and calculus formulas right now.

weren't you looking at diesel trucks and we all gave you the same you don't need to drive a big diesel truck in college lines?

If so the dodge ram would be a much better choice than a HD diesel truck for college

Yes I don't remeber that being spring but regardless yes I was. Reason was cause they were a lot of truck for the money. But my dad talked me out of it saying I would get raped in fuel prices and oil changes.
