FAE on VTX with auto wedge

I put a FAE on my new VTX and am getting a pretty good size rooster tail/spray at ski speeds. Has anyone else put one on a VTX with the power wedge? If so, did you use the full 3 inch spacers on the wedge bracket bolts? I cut mine down to get a proper z measurement (I think), which raised the FAE up a bit, but am wondering if going back to 3 inch spacers and putting it further in the water would help. Yes, I am asking Larry about it, but thought I would check if anyone else had some real experience with it to compare measurements.

I have a different boat, but I think the principle is the same.

I do have a rooster, but it is not even close to enough to bother a skier when I go 32 MPH. It may spray 10 feet from the boat.

Is this a cosmetic rooster tail, or actually something that affects the ski wake?

Cosmetic, unless I have a miraculous break through and get into much shorter line lengths, then the spray might come into play. Ski wake is about the same now at 32 mph as it was without the FAE. Just wondering if that was normal since it sticks out pretty far around the wedge, or if needed to modify my install.
