Picture copy and paste.

I just did something for the first time ever. I copied a picture from a FB posted and it posted in a message. Wasn't expecting it to. Looks like copying from another media site works to some extent.

Just tried it here and it worked.

Nothing tricky going on here. This is in essence the same thing as linking/embedding from another site. The board software is just smart enough to figure out what you're pasting into the editor & parse it correctly.

Was it because you were looking at the bears going over the ridge in the upper left corner of the photo?
