IE 11 issue

Seems to be a known issue with IE 11 and the software that this forum uses. I couldn't tell for sure from the postings at IPBoard, but it sounds like there might be a patch. The bug involves the quote functionality and paste functionality not working.

Only workaround is to flip the editor into BBCode mode which works for quote and paste and then flip it back so that you can use the advanced editor.

This seems to show a fix for it

When in doubt, use anything but IE. But, some don't have that choice unfortunately.

I'll take a look at this over the weekend. Thanks for posting.

LOL IE is 55% + of the browser market.

Thanks for checking into it

Bingo. Outside of enterprise, IE isn't in the top 2.

Regardless, this isn't an IE issue - it is an issue that IPBoard has every time a new browser is introduced - so it goes into the "I don't know what the hell this is mode" ;)

It is & at the same time it isn't. Let me explain.

(Taken from another site because it explains it better than I can at the moment.)

"There are certain "universal" standards by which just about every internet browser interprets coding. This consistency is what allows websites to maintain their design and functionality across multiple browsers on a variety of devices. While most companies work to keep these standards, Microsoft opted to follow their own set of rules. Because of this, you encounter websites that either look incorrect on Internet Explorer or just flat out break."

Microsoft has employed this practice of proprietary development from the beginning with IE & they stubbornly refuse to change their practices, regardless of these universals standards that were put in place years ago. If web developers didn't have to code for IE, most of the bugs in their sites would go away. I can say honestly that 95%+ of the problems that we have are 1) with IE & 2) specifically caused because of this issue.

If you have a choice, please please please do not continue to support this browser & the practices that MS continues to employ behind its development.

That's great. Believe it or not, I'm not a MS basher. MS makes some really great products (I'm actually sitting here coding in C# in Visual Studio which is a great experience). But IE isn't one of them.
