Recommended Posts

Hey guys I'm looking for some info and help with plumbing up my new heater , it looks like there has been one mounted in my boat previously just wanted to know if there is already a write up or article somewhere with the info , I am running an orca semi closed cooling system and wanna know ( amongst other things ) the best place connect the flow and return hoses ?

I bought a new heater also, and I also have a 1/2 closed system. I plan to pull the plug on the intake manifold (forward, starboard side) to send water to the heater, and pull the plug on the circulator pump (just above where the J-hose attaches) for the heater return. I don't know which post I saw that in, but it makes sense to me.

I like that the heater will have coolant in it that way, but I don't think it will be easy to burp the system. I'm also considering a shutoff ball valve for the send hose.

I just saw that you have a V drive, so your engine is backwards when finding the plug on the manifold. I have direct drive.

The outlet plug is in the round boss:

The return plug is just behind the pulley where the belt is tangent, on the pump housing:
