09 fosgate head unit change over

Hey guys new to the page. Have an 09 lsv and have upgraded the stereo. I don't think the factory head unit is powerful enough (changes modes by it's self when loud, system draws too many watts), so is there another head unit (oval shape) that will change out with it or have to remold the whole dash? Cheers

Add a exile Zld or wet sounds eq.

An external EQ would only cure the symptom if the head-unit was bypassed 100% by connecting a media source directly to the EQ's input. AM/FM, SAT and USB would be forfeited. Would also require all speakers to be driven by an amp.

Sounds like a possible head-unit issue, but I would want to eliminate a possible faulty remote causing the random mode changes.

Thanks guys. These stereo set ups are all new to me with the head unit then the separate box. All speakers and sub run off an amp into that other black box then into the head unit. What's the exile Zld?
