Well like I said, I have a 2010 5.7L Tundra crewmax and this is an A+ truck I'm every way up to about 7000lbs in towing. And I mean flawless. I bought it new, and have put this truck thru the paces, 8500 lb G23, 9500lb 34ft RV. It's done it all. At 80k miles it's been 100% flawless in every way.... All I've done is the scheduled maintenance.

Towing the G23 at 70mph does ok on reasonable interstate. It will downshift on hills and the larger overpasses. I see 6-9mpgs while towing, and it's a very heavy tow on the truck. I would be buying as much for safety as ease of towing and the diesel fuel economy. Also, this summer I burned 300$ monthly at 6-9mpgs towing the boat.

As far as the other Japanese, none of them are even in the ballpark of the dodge, ford, Chevy 3/4ton diesels. I was talking 3/4ton diesels, I can justify it with the weight of this boat.

If I wanted another 1/2ton, it'd be a Tundra, not even a question. Hard to think about trading it when it's been such a great truck in so many ways, I'm just on the upper limit of what you do with a 1/2ton. I may just keep it and burn the gas. We'll see.

Here's a solution for you: two trucks. Some folks here have two or more boats, why not two trucks?
