2002 - 23' LSV Sunscape - 12" sub for boat?

Any suggestions for installing a 12" sub and a link for my boat? sub facing feet or facing away from sidewall?

Do you already have an amp? If not how much do you want to spend for the Amp/Sub/Box? This narrow your choices really quick.

The boat already has 2 amps 1 for tower and another for inboat speakers. I am open to spend money on a mono amp. I also think i have the amp space for a sub too, but I have to double check. I am open to spending about $500

How comfortable are you building your own box? This is where you can save some money to put towards the other items. An off the shelf box is going to be a waste of money in the long run as you'll have to replace it when it falls apart, but if you don't care about that it should get you through a season anyways. Building a simple sealed box is easy and you can coat it in fiberglass resin yourself or take it to a bedliner place and have them spray the outside of it for you to make it water/moisture resistant. Kind of fun to do as well if you're into that kind of thing.
