How much fuel do you consume per hour on average?

I only put in 5 gallons at a time when we have a full boat. That way I dont have to commit to more than an hour with a bunch of freeloaders.

Not something I focus on (why bother?) but I know I'm filling up at least 3-4 15 gal jugs each weekend that we're out on it....... (xs550 motor)

We just burned 37 gallons of fuel today on the lake, we surfed with about 2500 lbs of weight + wedge, and wakeboarded will full mls and wedge and a variety of other ballast configs. I put 6 hours on the boat today.... I had 9 people in the boat, our fuel consumption today was 6.1 gallons per hour doing these activites. This was at 2000' elevation, Monsoon 350, Acme 1235 ( 2315 coming soon!). I was told the higher elevation causes the engine to burn more fuel because of the motor loosing HP with elevation loss.

My tank is 44 gallons, the fuel gauge reads completely empty with about 8-9 gallons of fuel left.... I am a little bummed about this size tank, to ride a full day I have to go back to the marina mid-day and top-off to make it to the late evening. Would be nice if Malibu would put a 50 gallon tank in the 21' boats.

Drop the weight and limit people to 4-6 and your fuel GPH will get better. The amount you use sounds about right with how heavy you load the boat down.

Rode this weekend. Over almost 8 hrs on the boat clock, we burned thru about 35 gallons of gas using the stock 900 lbs of ballast, and 4 or 5 guys in the boat. So 4.3 gallons/hr?

About the same on my Vride with 1235 prop. About the same 3.5 to 4.5 gph.

We are at the 5-6 gal per hour with 6-8 people and typical full stock ballast, extra ballast of 1670 lbs and max wedge or very close to max wedge... about 50/50 time spent surfing and wakeboarding. Monsoon 350 with 2313 prop. Good to see others to compare to. Had no clue but it is very consistent 5-6 gph.

"Max wakeboard" with ballast and people, around 3550rpm with Monsoon and 537 acme in 04vlx, around 8 to 9 gallons per hour. Only a 35 gallon tank so after 3.5hours I start to worry.

Sounds like you need a new prop and from the numbers you would save money in the long run. Same hull I am getting 3.5 to 4.5 gph with the 1235 prop.

You make a valid point. There is a guy on our lake that has a "go fast" boat with twin somthinrothers that run on race fuel. I would hate to see the fuel bill for a weekend of going fast. Last time I checked 110 octane was in the $8-9/gal, but that was several years ago when I ran it in my quad.

Planning on it as soon as the current one gets damaged, already have a 537 as a spare.
