I have the indmar book but how hard is it to replace the Breaker Point Standard Ignition Tune Up Kit Includes Cap, Rotor, Points and Condenser? I would say im a average DIY'er

It's a piece of cake. The only tricky part is setting the gap of the contacts which, I think, the book should cover. (personally, I've never dealt w/breaker point ignitions)

Aside from that, you 'outta upgrade to electronic ignition. Didn't someone post, on here, recently the name and # of the exact ignition system needed?

The tune-up should be easy. Get a good set of feeler gauges to adjust the point gap.

I converted mine from breaker-point to electronic pickup. I got the Pertronix kit from the local performance auto shop. They had to order it. It was about $80 bucks. I think my motor runs better and stronger since. And I don't have to worry about the points and their gap.
