2 Pump Issues

2006 Wakesetter VLX.....Lots of Q's

#1

Well, after getting the boat in the water for the first time this year, I had 2 'empty" pumps crap out. Center and Port rear (hard tank, MLS system) . The pumps are Piranha 800 gpm. (stock).

Question.... Because of the $50 bill for 1 pump, is there an alternative for the rear port empty pump? I was thinking of the Tsunami 800 but does anyone know if there would be enough room. Seems the Tsunami is wider than the Piranha, and from what I remember there isn't a whole bunch of room??

#2 When I fill the center bow, The tanks fills but a stream of water runs along the top of the tank towards the back and basically down into bottom of boat. I am thinking the hose on the inlet fitting or the inlet fitting itself is where the water is coming from. Has anyone else come across this issue?? ALSO is there any easy way to gain access to the top of the tank to check?? Can the floor can't be easily removed? Is there a "Gerry rig" solution?

Thanks for the help.

Follow Up Question. If I use the 1100 gph replacement cartridge rather than the OEM 800, would I have any issues with blowing the fuse because of more power draw? From what I found they draw the same amps? Does that sound right?

Cracked hose in the belly tank is very common. Replace and your leak will be gone.

Tsunami 800s Are available at your local walmart. Won't hurt to try... $32 if memory serves.

Is that floor panel in the bow removable?? How big of a job is it to replace?
