2003 Wakesetter 23 XTi - Bow Speaker Questions?

Howdy folks...first post since picking up a 2003 Wakesetter last year. I'm changing the stereo up a bit and while I'm at it, I figured I would add bow speakers. I found the factory speaker wires behind the interior light on both sides of the bow...but...no pre-cut speaker holes in the fiberglass in the front of the bow (at least not that I could feel). I believe I read on here that only the 2005+ boats have the pre-cut holes. Couple of questions:

1) Am I correct that only 2005+ boats to have the pre-cut holes? If not, are there other holes pre-cut somewhere else in the bow?

2) If there are no pre-cut holes, I will build my own. I have built speaker boxes before so, that shouldn't be a big deal and I already have some 3/8" marine grade birch on hand. However, does anyone have any pictures of what the boat would have looked like with speakers up front from the factory? I'm kind of a stickler for keeping it as factory looking as possible.

Thanks!

-Pete

Are you sure there are no speakers? My 2002 XTi has speakers but you cannot see them...they are far forward under the gunnel pad. Look up under there at the front of the bow...
