Depth Finder

Recommended Posts

racer808

I have been looking for a depth finder. I saw a few videos where guys just epoxy a puck to the inside hull, no drilling or transom mounting required? I can't find them, do they exist?

Also been been looking & I think I want a thru hull for under $150.00, found some by Fariah or Hawkeye. Good / bad brands? With the price I wonder about quality cause man there are some expensive depth finders out there! I don't want a transom mount.

A few friends say my perfect pass wakeboard pro should have the depth on it, but I don't see it anywhere? Does PP have depth?

I installed a Hummingbird 650 in my Malibu and it was easy. No drilling of the hull required. The transducer glues to the inside of the hull. It provides a good and steady reading and works well. About $120 bucks.

There should be one the wired right into the helm. Ask you dealer, there was a specific module and puck. I did mine, it was about $275, and took about an hour.

I have the Hawkeye. Similar price, similar results to Cliff B. Comes with both white and black faces and bezels.

See I got confused when everything I looked at said "transom mount" but all of them looked like they mount to the exterior transom then wire thru. I would have ordered one long ago if I knew I just needed to epoxy the thing down. I actually found that video the other night which is what prompted me to ask the question. Thanks

Looks pretty good! accurate readings? Did you have to adjust it at all or factory settings work? Anyone put the depth finder closer to the front of the boat?
Or do you find better luck were the boat lays flat?

Mine works well from right under the engine, although i can't seem to get the epoxy to hold very well.
