deleting Headunit for system....

2003 wakesetter, i have the HU under armrest,

i never use the stereo and more, with sirius, and iPods now, I have heard of people removing the HU and putting a pocket in its place, more for holding iPhones, etc...

any one have pictures? or ideas of how to do it?

earmark has a kit, but pocket is small and does not appear to fit, (going to store today for clarification)..

appreciate any feedback or ideas

We have made them out of ABS plastic or starboard before, basically just constructing a box and back mounting it to the panel. You do not have a whole lot of room to work with. You could always take a piece of vinyl and staple it to the back side to make a loose pocket?

I am planning on deleting my head unit and just using the ZLD on my Wakesetter this spring.

Thought about this many times but I can't give up my transom remote. I did move my HU under the dash and sewed together a hanging pocket out of vinyl as Paul suggested. Works great and pretty easy.
