I'd honestly look into section-ing that wall. Taking out the Sheetrock (if its a finished wall) and re building/re enforcing the garage side of that wall...idk how possible that is, Only construction i ever did was masonry but idk. Just a thought

was thinking of making the cut out just big enough for the shroud of the power wedge to fit in it, plus a few inches on either side to make it not so difficult to line up. The hole will not go all the way through both sides of the wall, just enough to gain a few inches.Basicly the width of the 2x4.

as long as that extra 2-2.5" is worth the effort.

it is a finished wall, The other side of the wall is the Master bath vanity..

It would be cool to have the power wedge under the wife's Master bath vanity, where you could open the vanity and check on it.
