Auto Volume - How does it Work?

I have done some research and it looks like you go and enable autovolume in the Malivue and that most people select level 1.

Then do you set the volume to what you want while the boat is idle and when you get on the throttle it turns the volume up in accordance with the level 1 settings?

Also, I play my Ipod thru my Aux in - will this work method work with autovolume.

Thanks

Yep it works well and I use it during most all watersports. Iphone thru the 3.5mm Aux in the glove box. completely elilminates the need to reach over and adjust the loud volume when you spin around to pick somine up. That is one less annoyance or somthing you have to remember.

I use level 2 or 3. reason is, when I spin around, there is almost always a conversation, either between those in the boat, or between driver and whoever is in the water, so we want the volume relatively low during that time.

you set it when you are up at speed.... get up to whatever speed you are doing and get your volume where you want it.... when you come off plane, the volume will drop...1 is the least and 3 drops the volume the most.

Interesting, so you need to set it? I thought selecting what level you want was all you had to do??? So when we are boarding at 20.5 I should go into the maliview to change the level to 1, 2 or 3?

No, you set the Auto-volume once and it"ll stay there till Malivue is reset or you put your Perko off, or disconnect batteries.

The only main critique I have of it is that is was set mainly for wakeboard speeds.... 20-22mph. you only get a slight increase, even at level 3, from 0-12MPH for surfing. There should be an additional setting where you set your top speed... ie 11mph or 21mph. so you go from min to max volume according to the speed you want vs the autovolume's set speed of 20 mph.

Not enough variance for the 11mph wakesurfing.

The auto volume works off rpm. Every thousand rpm you climb it raises the volume based off the level you told it in the setup menu. Does the opposite when you slow down.

I use the level 3 setting and really like it. Level 3 will increase the volume by 12 when you speed up. I turn the batteries off quite often and have not had to reset it in Malivue. I believe all boats with Maliview have this option.

I think it came out in 2011...

Nope had it on my 09. The issue with autovolume is level 3 is only 9 clisck. Not nearly enough volume range for most people. If Malibu would allow for a range up to 25 clicks that would be sweet. I use the HSE instead of the autovolume.

NOt sure why there are only 1,2 ,3. maybe a 4 and 5 , heck live dangously and put in a 6 would be better?? It is better than having to manually adjust each time, but a tad more thought into the design would have been good.

My 2009 used to have autovolume. Now I can't find it in the Maliview menu. I have Maliview version A14. Is there a newer version? I think it maybe got reset back to an older version.

Click on the Media button, then when it says stereo on the malivue screen push the On/Off button. You'll see autovolume pop up on the right hand side of the screen. You can then use the up and down arrows to select level 1-3.

Thanks Bobby Light! I'll give it a try this weekend.
