I recently upgraded the Titan Alpha II Speakers that I purchased a while back. I replaced the MB Quart 6"x9" speakers that came in the cans with Rockford Fosgate T1693 Power Series speakers.

I am quite pleased with the result. The new speakers are louder and clearer and the bass response is tremendously improved. They sound great in the boat and I can hear them while riding behind the boat. Obviously, they do not have the projection capabilities of the HLCD speakers on the market but for $200 (for both pairs), it was a worthwhile upgrade.

The upgrade was pretty easy as well. The mounting pattern on the new speakers match the bezel pattern precisely. I only had to dremel a little of the plastic on the speaker mounting tabs so that the bezel screws would clear.
