Bow Ballast for Slalom?

nownow

Recommended Posts

Anyone out there using bow ballast for slalom? With a total of under 200 lbs of people in the boat, I'm thinking I might dial in 50% on the factory bow ballast. Makes sense to me in theory but looking for experiences. VTX with the Cut Diamond.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Did not have much luck with the front tanks, I found I get a better (smaller) wake with no ballast and 1/2 tank or less of gas and only 2 people in the boat.

1/4 to a 1/3 tank of fuel, 2 people in the boat and the front tank about 1/3 full. Visually I don't see much of a difference with the ballast but what wake there is feels softer than without the weight in the front. The biggest factor seams to be how much fuel is on board......that's the nice about waterfront property in that I can keep fuel levels low, ski off our dock and not have to worry about having enough fuel in the boat for the day, at least until someone wants to surf and you suddenly want th weight in the boat!

Thanks! I'm planning on keeping the fuel under 1/2 for sure whenever we're skiing, but ideally around 1/4. We'll play around with the ballasting and see what we can figure out.

Ditto on waterfront!
