Lowriderboats.com has a cool set up that looks like the ticket, but I'm no hydrodynamacist. :)

You might have just stumbled upon the secret that is "Surfgate" .

Is lowriders idea fundamentally any different than a wedge (minus being towards the sides vs middle)? both use an angled surface under water to pull the buButt down.

maybe one gate opens to act like a mini wedge and on the other side the gate goes negative to act like a trim tab. so one side is pushing up, the other is pulling down?

I think I mentioned this once before in previous post, but the logical extension to all of this is to also have (another) wedge or surfgate farther up towards the bow. In this instance I think a wedge with a moveable wing would work the best, since it could stick down a bit, to suck the bow in a bit more to lengthen that sweet spot.

Instead of having it swing up and down, have it retract into the hull, somewhere around the pass through, just have an extension of the open bow playpen like a Supra to top spot where it retracts.

Anyone search the us patent site? I would if I wasn't on my phone on the lake but I'm sure they filed a patent for it a while ago. Either way we will see tomorrow :)

I am guessing the surf video behind the outboard is from Northern California. The prop sitting right in front of you ready to chew you to pieces would give you the same thrill as surfing the NorCal beaches with Great White sharks lurking under the water.

Where does it say the announcement would be today? The 'encrypted' videos on the surfgate website say 7/4/2012.

EDIT: nevermind, just realized it says 6/29/12 at end of the other videos. now I'm wondering why those 2 videos say 7/4 in the name.

Given that it is already Friday afternoon on the East coast, and many people will start taking off for the weekend/Holiday week, i sure hope they post something soon. Otherwise, they may lose a lot of the hype that will be built up by all of us sitting at our desks waiting to get out of here!
