Last fall when I winterized, I got in a hurry when I didn't have the correct box-end to take out the block drain on the passanger side (DD). I used a vice grip and mangled the head of the plug. I rounded the edges pretty bad. Does anyone know where to get a replacement? I am guessing the dealership would be the best place but didn't know if it is a common piece of hardware that could be found at the hardware or auto parts store.

If any standard parts store would have it, it would be Napa. I'd take it in there & see if it's something they carry.

Its probably just National Pipe Thread. Should be able to get a plug at a hardware store.

Correct, 1/4 Inch NPT.

(Just replaced mine with a fitting for the hot water shower.)

Home Depot, Lowes, etc. will have it in the plumbing/pipe section.

I'm going to have to take the vice-grips to some brass plugs, then have you call my wife and explain things to her.

I just installed a dab of grease on all my plugs that I just installed. I don't know why I haven't done this in the past. It seems to make removal easier.
