Group Buy, Custom Cooler for Under the Seat.

As most of you know I have been working on a custom coolerthat is similar to the factory Malibu cooler but, one that will actually hold ice and not leak.

In order to keep the cost down we will need 120 orders and if we fall short the price go's up fast.

Details Need 120 orders.

• Vote yes ONLY if your 100% going to buy a cooler.
  
• Price will be about $70 plus shipping.
  
• Similar in shape as a factory Malibu cooler.
  
• Order date will be 8 weeks after we have 120 confirmed orders. Most likely this fall to winter if it happens.
  
• If you vote yes, I will be holding you to it.
  
• Color black.
  

Thanks to Airjunky I have asked that the top of the cooler have a pocket with a small piece of Velcro to it closed. This would be a great place for keys, wallet, faceplate or napkins.

Cooler Specs

AO coolers are guaranteed to never leak or sweat because of our high quality vinyl liner, the same material used to make waterbeds and above ground pools. The inner insulation is three-quarters of an inch thick, high-density, closed cell foam. The combination creates a cooler that will hold ice for 24 hours in 120-degree heat. With our soft exterior, it won’t scratch up your gel coat or tear up any upholstery

Size will be ABOUT Bag measures 24" long 14" widees 7" tall

9/27/12 update. Added pics of the proto type cooler. Outside mesures 24x14x8 and fits 38 cans with out a problem (sure I could have put more) and still 2.5" of room on top for ice and some room on the sides.

Talking with AO the height will be moved upto 9" to 10" tall and maybe a little longer. Don't worry if you have lower (8" tall) seats like me as this is a soft side cooler, just don't fill it to the top with ice. One other addition will be a pocket on top for keys, wallet or what not. This is a pocket not a pouch.

Their is no link to find the cooler that the GB will be on as it has never been produced. I have used the specs of the factory cooler as a guild line. This cooler will fit under the seat just like the one in the picture below.

Interested. Mine has a 3" tear on the bottom. It leaked before, but it really leaks now. I'm looking for something not prone to the same problem. A plastic tub that fits inside the stock cooler maybe?

I really miss the size of my cooler from my 2002 vlx, it could hold 90 beers and ice. I'm in, if it is garunteed not to leak, I'll just put it under the rear seat next to the cooler for more holding power.

Yes we need the 120 orders or as Blitzed indicated the price would be $100+

The more people that know the better odds we have of this deal happening.

Their is no logo (keeps the cost down) on the coolers to make it simple and for any brand of boat owner to order.

I assume it's "VLX" specific? Looks teeny compared to the one in my LSV. I assume it'll just fit in the LSV cooler and not fill it up?

I also forwarded the info to my dealer.... Maybe we can get some dealers in on this. They could purchase some coolers for stock, and sell them as an upgraded cooler. I'm sure there are lots of people buying Malibu boats that don't have any idea this site exists, or would even use it if they did know about it. If dealers had coolers sitting in their showroom, and people could compare to the factory bag, I'm sure it would be an easy sale.
