New setup for 2004 Malibu Response LXI

After buying our '04 RLXI to replace our '00 Response closed bow, I installed a new system this winter. It's not the party cove setup some of you guys rock, but for us (on the narrow Dutch rivers) it's pretty sweet..... Loud enough for my taste en the Samson's are very crisp and clear.

- New Sony marine grade head unit, works with factory installed remote;

- MTX Subwoofer (home build box) powered by JBL amp;

- Pair of Samson 720's (with Focal speakers), powered by Exile S400.4.

The goal was to keep the tower nice and clean... I believe we succeeded.

Looks like a great setup and probably didn't break the bank. Simple and effective!

A lot of our problem here in the states is everyone else has the party cove setup, to be able to hear YOUR music you have to go big or go home. That and we love debt.

You mentioned a new Sony Head End compatible with that damn SOny Unilink (or at least I think thats what you are implying) - what headend did you find? I'm looking for a new one that will support Bluetooth and Unilink - seems they dont make one....

Nice setup. I'm with you on the minimal stereo setup, just need enough to have tunes in the boat, but sounding good. Love the rich crisp sound of the Focal speakers. I'm assuming you didn't opt for the real high dollar Focals.

On a side note, are you all the Dutch famly featured on "Extreme Houseboats"? They also had a Malibu and a beatiful Houseboat they live on full time. The wife was a barefooter. If I remember right, it seemed like they had a CB Response in the '00 vintage.
