i've always thought that a box of rocks would be a better solution.

if i can hit you with a rock you are too close!

Get yourself a flare gun...it'll increase your range to about 150-200 yards..with a little practice, you'll be able to lob a flare into the boat.

Do you warn your passengers before you use those babies?

I like the idea but it seems like it might be quite punishing for your passengers...

Since I just installed them yesterday, I haven't been out with any passengers. The only place I could put them due to their size was in the locker so when it's closed up the sound is muffled quite a bit. Just about the right amount of sound since we in the boat are so close to them, now if you stuck your head in there and I blasted them you would have permanent damage I'm sure.

So I went on the way more cheapskate end of the spectrum to upgrade the horn on my MB.

I got this: http://www.harborfre...horn-40134.html

Now I'm not mounting these things to be seen, and thankfully they mount up find under the dash after I fabbed up a mounting bracket. I glued the horns in the bases and used hose clamps as the harbor freight reviews suggest. Also had to upgrade the fuse on my horn circuit from 10a to 15a.

The horn that came with the boat was a joke. This setup is way way way better and I'm only out $15. Pretty sure it's going to scare my wife the first time she honks it. I'm thinking hard about getting another one for my civic because its horn is almost as wimpy sounding as the factory mb horn.

You are nuts! But I like your style. I've been thinking of getting a better horn that can be fit in the bow by the air intake vents so I don't kill my passengers.
