production paint over galvanized trailer?

Recommended Posts

tvano

i'm in the market for a new trailer that is galvanized but don't care for the looks of galvanized.

is oem/production paint on a galvanized trailer odd?

i don't seem to be having much luck finding what i want.

dealership / sales guy says he doesn't have any vendors doing paint over galvanized.

I've seen it done, think it was powdercoated. Special order of course.

Paint over Gal is a normal option here in Australia. All the benefits of galvanised metal with a nice glossy paint job. It's an absolute "must have" (personal opinion) if you ski on a river anywhere near the ocean - probably not so much if you only ski on a lake :)

I have a buddy in Seattle with a salt water series VTX.... including the galvanized & painted Extreme trailer. They ride in Puget Sound down near Gig Harbor, Wilochet Bay area. He's a Bakes customer & has had the boat for a few yrs now. Says the trailer is great. Definitely looks great.

What about having the trailer Rihno lined? One member had his new trailer done and it looked great. Would that work for you?

Extreme trailers does the galvatube. Ordered one for my previous boat when we decided to start hitting the salt water. a painted galvanized trailer. I was happy with it.

Boatmate offers paint over galvanized - it's a standard order option through Malibu on new boats, or direct to Boatmate on used boats.
