Winterizing 98 malibu echelon

Recommended Posts

WBL skier

Does anyone have (or could point me to) a good list of what all needs to be done to winterize a 98 malibu echelon (Gen 2 EFI monsoon). I had an 89 prostar before and did the winterization, but I've never had a boat with EFI before this year, so I am not really sure what is different in that respect.

Also, what are people's thoughts on running RV/Marine antifreeze through rather than blowing it out? I've always done it this way after one year my frost cap popped from apparently not getting all of the water out---thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Hey - where'd the emoticon go with the guy eating popcorn and watching the show?

FWIW, last year was the first time I've winterized my engine (265hp carb merc) as it was previously stored in a heated building. I drained all the water and then ran antifreeze thru it. Some guys swear by it, some guys say it's overkill.
