1994 response 350 magnum idle issue

Hello,

I am having trouble with my malibu since it over heated due to the impeller failing. I fixed this issue and now gas bubbles are coming up from the side of the boat which never happened before. It will idle high and not come down so it jams into gear. If i turn it of and on a couple times it will idle normal and run fine. Any ideas as to what I should check next or what is causing this issue?

Carb'd motor right? Sounds like the choke maybe idk. Try disconnecting it and see what happens.

could you describe this better, are air bubble coming out where the raw water intake is?
