Mounting Flush Pro in a v-drive

Recommended Posts

OK so the flush pro is here. Does it matter whether I mount it before or after the v-drive? This is sortof a "duh" question, but I'd think it'd be OK after the v drive, but want to make sure. Seems much harder to mount in that very short hose between the raw water intake and the v-drive.

Seems to me if your using it to flush salt water out, then it doesn't matter, open the valve at the hull & let it flush both ways.

But if your using it to winterize, then you should have it before the v-drive so it will fill everything with anti-freeze.

Be careful with the plastic, especially in the winter. They haven't held up very well for us.

Mine is before the v-drive so that there is water running thru it anytime the engine is running on the hose.

And, I remove mine after I winterize and keep it inside the garage. Not sure Indiana cold would damage it, but easy to remove and reinstall after the initial work.

There are a few other threads on here with pictures of installs. Easy on a 21+ foot boat but tougher on the 20 footers.
