Bimini for 99 Response

Anybody with Windshield mount biminis willing to share their experiences? I would love to see pics of boats without towers. Any pros/cons you guys can share would be great. Didnt come with a bimini so im looking to add some shade.

I don't have any pictures but I have a 2001 Response LX with the bimini mounted on the windshield. Mine was dealer installed when I purchsed the boat and the mounts are about 2/3rds the way up the side of the windshield. Prior boat was a 1990 Centurion Barefoot Falcon that had a deck mounted bimini. No real difference. They both function exactly the same. After having both, I have no real preference.

Last summer a friend of mine had an MC 197 and we all got him a bimini for a wedding present. He did a windshield mount himself. Pre-drilled holes with no issue, installed one side with no issue, BROKE his windshield on the other side. The screw was just enough bigger that the hole in the frame had missed the glass but the screw hit it. It broke out the entire side of the windshield and had to be replaced. His free bimini ended up costing him a bundle. I installed a bimini on my echelon this spring. After seeting that, I mounted to the deck just along side the windshield. The mounting brackets on my bimini could pivot enough to allow for either mounting location. I also know others with windshield mounts and no issues, but once was enough to scare me.
