transmission removal

Recommended Posts

Has anyone removed the engine with transmission attached? Where do you disconnect the transmission from the V drive?

I have a 1996 Sunsetter VLX

Only way to really to pull the engine is with the transmission AND v-drive attached. Disconnect v-drive from the drive shaft at the coupler.

You don't want to leave the v-drive in because it is not supported by anything but the drive shaft and the transmission - and you would not want to leave the weight of the v-drive on the shaft alone.
