helm throttle control “E-MV3" System

Recommended Posts

I have a 2011 Wakesetter LVX with the Monsoon engine that uses the helm throttle control “E-MV3" System for throttle and shift control.

We were out last night wakesurfing and wakeboarding and at the end of the wakeboarding session I was not able to come out of forward drive, therefore losing neutral and reverse. If i tried to go into reverse I was actually applying more throttle and speeding up in forward.

It looks like the actuator was stuck in forward drive and all control at the throttle handle applied power to the forward drive only.

Has anyone else experienced this and is there a in water repair that a driver/owner could complete to at least get off the water safely?

Thanks

I thought they went back to an actuall shift linkage again for the trans correct? I have had my linkage pop off a time or two in really rough water. Maybe check the connection at the trans undr the center seat

We checked all the cabling and looks fine, even removed and replaced the connections, I have looked all through the tech posts and cannot see anyone else having a problem with being stuck in forward gear.

The engine starts in gear.

Have you heard anything like this before?

Thanks

You're the first person to post a scenario like this and, IMHO, it's a SERIOUS safety issue.

I can't believe that boat starts in forward gear and now that's there's a fault in the electronic shifting, that the system doesn't "recognize" a fault and go into some sort of "emergency" or, "limp home" mode.

Good luck.

The Marina is working with Indmar now and will hopefully have something back to me by the end of the day.

The marina has ordered another transmission for the fix.

Hopefully in soon

Thanks
