Brake Fluid Level

I have another stupid question that should make all of you feel smart.

I have this new-to-me 1997 Echelon in my driveway that I am going over with a fine-toothed comb while I wait for the weather around here to improve. It sits on a 1997 Extreme single axle trailer with surge brakes. I opened the brake fluid resevoir and noticed that it was only about half full. I have no manual for the trailer and have tried searching this forum for the correct fill level for brake fluid in the resevoir to no avail. So what is the crew-approved amount of fluid to keep in the resevoir?

Hmmm...

Hy resevoir cap is just a cap with no stick attached to it.

I'm not sure how they did things back in 96' but on mine there's a big cap on top of the tongue (remove that) and underneath that is a smaller cap/dipstick for the actuator. I keep mine about 3/4" from the base of that cap.
