09 vRide Stress crack problem

I want to purshased a leftover 09 vRide. The boat didn't sell last year.

Still Brand new.

Ever heard of particularly 09 vRide having Stress crack problem?

Some dealer told me to beware...

No difference between the gelcoat and construction between an 09 v-ride and any other Malibu out there. So there is no reason a particular Malibu model would be more or less prone to stress cracks.

On an new boat you have warranty that covers gelcoat defects including stress cracks for 1 year IIRC.

I thought stress cracks was a lifetime warranty. Isn't it covered under the structural integrity section of the hull warranty?

With a leftover 09 I would be more worried about lot rot than stress cracks.

Stress cracks are cosmetic and are not a structural defect when we're talking about cracks from hardware mounting points - so they are not covered under the lifetime warranty.

Now you run your boat into a dock you will probably have stress cracks and underlying structural damage but that's a different story.
