Speedometer broke

I have a 2010 vlx, we were out yesterday and speedometer was working fine. We killed boat to rest and eat for a few and when we went to take off the speedometer doesn't work. Doesn't read in the malview or on that tac style gauge. Anyone had this problem or know what it could be? Thanks!

Did you ever find out what was wrong? I'm having the same problem with my 2008 Sunscape. I actually found my paddlewheel under the boat when I lifted it up with my boat lift. I can see how that might easily be clogged with a rock or some seaweed, but that was not my problem unfortunately. Normally, I wouldn't care so much, but since my speedometer is reading zero, my power wedge won't work. Thanks.
