wake of 2000 sportster lx

It's going to take a crap load of weight to get a good wake on that boat! My buddy own's one and compared to my sunsetter, its about half the size.

The Sportster wake is definitely on the smaller side. Good for learning on (great for kids). With the rope shortened to 60' it's easy to go wake-to-wake. Putting 500 lbs in the stern and 250 up front gives you a decent wake at 65'. Big enough to do inverts but you're not going to set any big-air records.

Where are you located?

I'm in Russia. Then I have to order it, then wait a month and can't test the wake before I buy it.

Last season we used prostar and it's wake was good enough for training even without ballast or with 200lbs in the stern.

Thanks for your answers!

BTW, the same can be said of the 91-94 Prostar. Great slalom machine, similar small wake.

Big difference there being that the ProStar will have the 265hp Mercruiser (and be almost 10 years older) the Sporty would have at least 310hp from an Indmar. I ski behind a 92 PS190 fairly regularly and the holeshot is not impressive without any ballast. Got a fantastic slalom wake though. And in the end...that's what matters.

 So...... You don't want to drop in to Northern California for a pull behind my 2000 Sportster?

"I've got the Echelon, same hull. I have the wedge"

what year did the wedge come out?

I'm not sure what year it came out, but I think it can be put in any Echelon ('93 and up), and any other boat from '94 and up. I think.

Maybe somebody have some photos of the wake of sportster/response?

I've only found this.

Looks like they are really going to drown it. :)

Once it warms up a bit more my boys will start wakeboarding and I can get some pic's. Being a wakeboarder, you wouldn't be impressed with the wake with no ballast at slalom speeds.

Put 500LBs sacs on each side of the engine and drop the wedge. You'll be able to get upside down.

I used to own one and it gets the job done wake wise. The speed had to be just right so look into perfect pass or a good driver.

I'll be trying mine out for the first time soon here, once the water warms up. Not looking forward to replicating that photo.

I'm pretty sure that is a wake-surf set up. There's a huge ballast bag next to the engine, plus the guys in the back, etc.
