Electrical problems

Recommended Posts

h20nut

I have a 1988 Malibu Skier and I am having trouble with my gauges and electrical things. For example lights and radio do not work. I think it could be the fuse box itself. I am looking for a wiring diagram of the boat. Malibu was no help. Can anyone help!!! Innocent.gif

'nut,

There is no such thing as a wiring diagram for any of these boats, unfortunately. If you're not mechanically or electrically inclined, your best bet is to get someone who is to look at your problem. This may mean paying for it. There are too many possibilities for what you describe.

Good luck.

Just as a first shot, pull all the connectors apart & reconnect them a few times just to make sure that there is no noogy on the pins. It solved my prob.

I would start at the battery:

1) Check your Negative (Ground) cable. If it is loose then you will have problems like this.

2) Run a separate ground wire from the battery to your dash ground connection. If things still don't work then it could be a +12V supply problem which could point to your fuse box as you suspect.
