How to add video instead of just link

I have been trying for some time to add YouTube Video to my post. I think I have tried everything. i have copied embedded code and added it to everywhere you can add, and all i can get it to do is add the link, Do I need a special membership to be able to do this.. I see others having no problem adding the actual video..Any step by step instructions??? This is all it will let me do...

on youtube click the share button and copy the link.

on here where you typed up your question, click on the "insert media" icon, paste in the URL and voila:
