Small world story......

Recommended Posts

....So my 9-year old son is playing basketball here in town. One of the other dad's has really looked familiar to me - - today we end up volunteering to do the clock and scorebook together. He tells me he noticed the Malibu decal on my truck, and then says he worked for Malibu for 3-years and then MasterCraft for the last 20. Well, turns out he is Wade Cox - former Pro-Tour slalom skier (and MasterCraft factory skier and personality). I just googled and checked him out skiing and talking MasterCraft in a bunch of YouTube vldeos.

Anyway - What a nice guy - - I loved "talking-shop" with another ski boat lover, and getting his perspective on the state of the industry today. He loves Malibu - said he considered The Euro-F3 one of the really unique, special boats he skied behind. I am a huge MasterCraft fan as well - had an X-2 that was an incredible boat before I got my WakeSetter. My love affair with the sport started with my first ride in MasterCraft Stars & Stripes in 1978 when I was 9-years old.

Well, small world.

That's what I love about our sport. The top athlete's are just normal people. It seems like they stay grounded unlike many other pro sports.

I couldn't agree more. I have skied with Freddie Kruger, Chris Sullivan, and Jamie Beauchesen before. Just a bunch of regular old good dudes!
