replace impeller

Quick question: Impeller failed. Opened up the housing and pulled out impeller (easy thanks to other posts on this --wd40 and cranking twice). The impeller looks like a chewed up dog toy -- most of the spines are gone. Felt around in the housing but could not find them. Where do I need to look to make sure I get them all out. I saw on other posts something about a line between pump and the trans (but not sure what this is). I see the large hose coming off the pump. Do I need to flush anything out, pull hoses (if so, which ones), or did this somehow get into the engine/trans that could cause some real damage? Its a 2002 VLX with 350 monsoon. Thanks in advance. You'll have to dig the remaining pieces out of the tranny cooler. It is located on the starboard side nearest the transom of the engine. Remove the bottom hose and start digging.

Go ahead and flush out that hose from the raw water pump to the tranny cooler

as well. Shouldn't take but a couple of extra minutes.
